I would to have an understanding of the term: "massive board-like edema with pain at rest." Also, my father has a diabetic condition, in addition to a "chronic venous stasis dermatitis s/p venous thrombophlebitis" condition. It is my understanding that exercise could assist with the varicose veins, as well as the diabetes----but, when my father exercises, he experiences varicose leg ulcers----any suggestions would be appreciated. He is 86 years old.
