I hope you have already gotten coverage for your family member - if not, then the answer is that under certain circumstances, Medicare WILL cover specialty beds and mattresses within the home setting. You can contact a local medical bed rental compay about a program. Medastat (no affiliation) is a large, nationwide company that can answer your questions. If you email me directly, off-line, I may be able to point you in the right direction.

I'm looking to get one of those special beds for my grandmother--she suffers form pressure ulcers and my fatehr and I care for her in our home. Does anyone know how to go through the process of recieving reimbursement-- does medicare cover those beds?
