In the news today:Home Alone With a Pressure UlcerI am a caretaker for a diabetic who has lost one leg to the disease. She is 63 years old. She also has heart problems. She sits in a chair 24 hours a day. Wheather in her recliner or in a wheelchair. She cannot lay down. She gets panic attacks. Because she is sitting 24 hours a day she has skin breakdown in her butt. She does not take baths or showers. She is afraid of getting into the tub. We have a shower with no tub but she refuses that too. She gives herself a sponge bath and we wash her hair in the kitchen sink. What are some idea's we can do to avoid the skin breakdown. Right now she has a very painful sore.
