    It is important to know the warning signs of a stroke, so you can contact a doctor if any appear:

    • Abrupt loss of speech, vision, and coordination which may become more marked over time
    • Sudden confusion, trouble speaking, and difficulty understanding
    • Impairments on one side of the body only, such as blindness in one eye
    • Loss of balance, possibly accompanied by nausea, vomiting, and fever
    • Sudden, severe headache followed by loss of consciousness
    • Sudden loss of consciousness
