OASIS Wound Matrix sounds like an interesting product. It can be used for the management of diabetic ulcers, pressure wounds, drainage areas, etc. It is typically well tolerated but can cause negative reactions such as swelling, infection, inflammation, and other unpleasant effects (although these types of reactions are uncommon). People who are allergic to pork should first check with a doctor before buying OASIS. Clearly, no one wants a hard-to-heal wound. Has anyone ever tried this product? If so, does it work?

Wow, thank you so much for the advice. I will be sure to let people with stubborn wounds know about venowave. I did a little research on the product after reading your post and was quite impressed. The site said venowave is a compression calf pump that increases circulation (thus blood flow). This helps to ward off blood clots and and works to increase wound healing rates. Gosh, if I ever suffer with a potentially dangerous foot or leg wound, I will definitely consider this product.

I am brand new to this site and just came across this post. I have heard of the Venowave before as i had a very close friend use it when she developed an ulcer on her toe. It helped her tremendously too. I was wondering if anyone had any fiurther information on it. I found the device online you can google it, and a lot of other stuff came up including segment on the news and videos of leading docs talking about it. This looks promising. thanks you for sharing.

Is this Hydrofera Blue medication based? I am looking more for 'natural' products. Any suggestions?

My friend has been using the Venowave with amazing results! Her wound of 11 months healed completely just by wearing this circulation pump. Doctor told her she would loose her foot if it got infected again. now she doesn't have to worry! i would recommend to anyone with open chronic wound.

Something else you may want to look into is Apligraf, a bioengineered skin for diabetic wounds developed by Organogenesis. Here is the link to the "Hear from others" part of their site.

A great new product that we've been trying is Hydrofera Blue. Distributed by Medline Industries.

I recently had an order for the product called Oasis, which is a graft product manufactured by Healthpoint. I believe it was introduced in March. It is designed for dsg changes after 5 days initially, then every 7 days. It is great timesaver and appears to be doing some good for my resident in the short period of time that we have used it.
